WATERMUSIC 2.2 is a 2022 non-narrative expérimental film conceptualized and directed by Antoine Wagner.
The vidéo work is presented on three projection surfaces and premieres on July 2, 2022 at the second edition of @davidfraypianist Festival @l_offrande_musicale_festival un Tarbes, France.
The WATERMUSIC 2.2 tryptich is accompanied by a live orchestra (le concert d’astrée) under the baton of Emmanuelle Haïm.
The film informed by Haendel’ Watermusic consists primarily of slow motion and drone footage of cities and waterscapes across Europe which Haendel experienced from his birth and on his grand tour in Italy before being commissioned by King George I for a concert on the river Thames.
The Water Music is a collection of orchestral movements, often published as three suites. It premiered on 17 July 1717.
The visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration : its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and music treating the projection surfaces like musical staves.
